Rose Marie Osti, of Silver Spring, Maryland, on September 18, 2019. Rose is predeceased by her husband, Gilio Jack Osti, as well as her five sisters and four of her brothers. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Robert) Hanyok; her grandsons Matthew (Mary) Hanyok and Christopher (Jessica) Hanyok; her great-grandsons Jack and Timothy Hanyok; her brother Joseph Galio; and by many nieces and nephews.
During World War II, Rose worked in a Curwensville, Pennsylvania factory stringing parachutes for servicemen. When the war ended, she was chosen "Miss Victory" in the Curwensville Celebration Parade and then worked in the MacGregor Shirt Factory. After marrying Gilio in 1949, they moved to Washington DC and later Silver Spring, Maryland where they raised their family. Rose also worked as a sales clerk at the women's clothing retailers the Lerner Shops and Jean Nicole.
Visitation will begin at 9:30am on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Rd, Silver Spring, Maryland 20902, where the Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10am. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland.
