Richard P. Delaney

On Sunday, October 28, 2018, Dr. Richard P. Delaney passed into eternal life after a prolonged battle with cancer. He is reunited with his oldest son, John, who passed before him in 2006 and his grandson, Luke Loria, who passed in 1997. Dr. Delaney was beloved by the thousands of patients he joyfully served for over half a century in general medical practice.

He is survived by his beloved spouse of 64 years, Joyce Delaney, and his 7 children - Mary Joyce Cable (Joe), Anne Collins (F.J.), Eileen Loria (Dick), Maureen Crumley (Mike), Patrick Delaney, Michael Delaney (Michelle), and Richard Delaney (Kira). He is also survived by his 34 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

His wisdom, wit and affection will be missed by all who have known and loved Dick Delaney. His beautiful love for the Church, Jesus and the Blessed Mother gives us consolation that he is at peace with our Father in Heaven.

Visitation will be held at 10am on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. Bernadette's Catholic Church, 70 University Blvd E, Silver Spring, Maryland 20901, where Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am.  Interment private. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Bernadette Catholic Church or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
