Maria Luisa Salinas

Maria Luisa Salinas, age 55, beloved wife of Gonzalo Montecinos and mother to Meghan and Britney Montecinos, on Friday November 8th, 2019 at 6:15 pm.  She passed peacefully surrounded by family and friends, when she heard God’s calling.

Maria was born June 21st, 1964 in Cochabamba, Bolivia to her late father Manuel Salinas and Justina Torrico. Since then she had attended school and became a nurse in her home country of Bolivia and in Argentina, as well. She later relocated to Silver Spring, Maryland where she married, started a family, and created a business. Maria attended Montgomery College, where she earned a CNA certificate. She later worked with many people and helped to care for others.

Maria was a beautiful and passionate woman who had strong beliefs and faith in religion. She was never afraid to say what she felt and took great pride in all her accomplishments. She had an interest in traveling, gardening, caring for people, and clean living. Maria was a loving individual who always demonstrated her love through the things she did for others. She always gave when needed and never asked for anything in return. Maria had a beautiful smile and could light up any room with her presence. She was an involved mother who did anything and everything for her children and was an amazing wife.

Maria is survived by her husband Gonzalo Montecinos; daughter Meghan Montecinos; daughter Britney Montecinos; mother Justina Torrico; brothers Miguel, Edgar, Jaime, and Dennis Salinas; sisters Delma, Janet, and Veronica Salinas; a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Maria was loved by all and will live on forever in their hearts.

The Official Visitation will be held from 7:30pm - 10:30pm on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at Mission San Andres, 12247 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20902.  A short visitation will be 9am - 9:45am on Friday, November 15th, 2019, at Mision San Andres, where Mass will begin at 10am. Burial ceremony will continue promptly after the Mass at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring MD 20906.
