James (Jimmy) Christopher Davern, 21, of Silver Spring, died April 13, 2018 as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision with another vehicle. He was born March 13, 1997 in Rockville, the son of Kevin and Jennifer (neé Malone) Davern. He attended The Avalon School and graduated in 2015, where he was a captain of the basketball team. He was currently enrolled at Montgomery College, worked at Copper Canyon restaurant in Silver Spring, and attended St. Andrew Apostle Catholic Church in Silver Spring.
The third of six children, Jimmy is survived by his parents Kevin and Jennifer of Silver Spring; his sisters Katie, Mary, Tricia and Rachel, as well as his brother Thomas. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Chris and Judy Malone, of Rockville and Silver Spring; and his paternal grandmother, Irene Davern of Winchester, VA. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Renee Wolf of Potomac, and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation hours will be Wednesday, April 18th from 5-9 pm at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, 11600 Kemp Mill Road, Silver Spring, with the Rosary and Benediction from 8-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be on Thursday, April 19th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Apostle Church, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Aspen Hill. A reception will be held at Saint Catherine Labouré Church, 11801 Claridge Road, Wheaton, Maryland in the Claridge Room at 1:30 pm.
