Eugene L. Aronne, age 89, passed into eternal life on Sunday, November 4, 2018. He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Justine, and his four devoted children: Marie Riley (Daniel), Antoinette Kilner (Patrick), Louise Nalley (John), and Eugene J. Aronne (Jo Ann). He is also survived by 17 adoring grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, and is reunited with his great-grandson John Paul Kilner, who died of spinal muscular atrophy in 2013.

A native of Brooklyn, New York, Eugene was a graduate of Brooklyn College, the Catholic University of America, and GW University, and was a collegiate swimmer, wrestler and football player.  He worked as a naval architect for the Department of the Navy for 30 years, and then as a consultant after his retirement.  A devout Catholic, Eugene was a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Shrine Council. He was an active parishioner for many years at St. Mary's, Landover Hills, and at the Church of the Resurrection in Burtonsville, and was a member of the Antonio Gatto Lodge of the Sons of Italy.
