Carl E. Rose, 82 years of age, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Casey House Hospice. Carl was born July 26, 1937 in Berwyn, Illinois to Edwin and Muriel Rose who preceded his death. Carl attended DeVry Institute in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Maryland in 1963. Carl made computers his life’s work at IBM, and after retirement, he was hired by the Montgomery County Public School system. His hobbies included his love of science, astronomy, trains and model railroading. Throughout his life he enjoyed camping, traveling, square dancing, skiing, and being involved in his church. As a devoted husband, he celebrated 59 years of marriage to a woman he adored. As a devoted father, he raised a son with Autism and co-parented with love and dedication. He raised his daughter with that same love and dedication and with a dry sense of humor.
Carl is survived by his wife, Glenda Rose; his two children, Deborah Rose Seils and Michael Andrew Rose; and his three grandchildren Emily Rose Seils, Anna Elizabeth Seitz, and Carl Joseph Seils. He will be extremely missed, but always fondly remembered by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at The Lutheran Church of St. Andrew at 15300 New Hampshire Ave, Silver Spring, MD on October 26, 2019, at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to CSAAC (Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children) at 8615 East Village Ave., Montgomery Village, MD 20886 will be greatly appreciated.
