Passed peacefully cradled in her parents’ arms December 2, 2017. Alaina was born and baptized November 30, 2017; her name’s meaning is Dear child promised to God. She gave her family 37 glorious hours of life. She died due to complications from Thanatophoric Dysplasia. She is preceded in death by her brother Joseph, October 9, 2016, who had Trisomy 18. She is survived by her brothers Patrick and Theodore, parents Katherine M. and Brian P. of Rockville; Grandparents Edmond & Margaret Fitzgerald of Potomac; and Grandparents Harold & Judith Heeren of Caledonia, IL. Visitation at the family’s residence in Rockville Tuesday, December 5, 2017 from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral service at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 4629 Aspen Hill Road, Rockville, MD 20853 on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside service and burial at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., 13801 Georgia Avenue in Silver Spring, Maryland.
