I attended his English class in Gaithersburg HS around 1980 - 1981. He emphasized the importance of reading & comprehension in everyday life in addition to what was required by students in the H.S 11th grade syllabus. When my stepfather passed away he appeared to know this since he read everything he could get his hands on including newspapers. He didn't embarrassed me or point me out in front of other class mates though he went into a generalizations of and about life in birth childhood adulthood, in a chronological fashion up to the later years and eventually loss of life.
I knew in his own way he was expressing his condolences to me w/o other classmates knowing.

" We don`t know what to say except we love you. We can`t understand exactly how you feel, but Jehovah God does and will keep raising you up. We hope that our prayers will help a little! Mr. Duggan was a good teacher and person! He will be missed, but never forgotten!

My condolences. He was my teacher for 11th grade English at Gaithersburg High School. He made the subject quite interesting.

Mr. Dugan (which is how I will remember him) was my 11th Grade English Teacher at Gaithersburg High School. He was an amazing teaching, one of my favorites, and he made a tremendous impact on my life.
