Loretta Ann Riehl, 81 passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017. She was the youngest of seven children of Wilber Summerfield Finch and Marie Sabina Schwartz. Loretta was born on October 26, 1935 in Washington, D.C., where she grew up and met the love of her life, Kurt William Riehl. She was married to Kurt for 44 years until his time of death in 1996. She is survived by four children: Kurt Riehl ( Susan) Centreville, MD; Philip Riehl (Martha) Leonardtown, MD; Lori Tolland (Timothy) Ormond Beach, FL; Marlena Hetherington (Robert) Rockville, MD. Loretta was proud of her 19 grandchildren and her 9 great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her brothers: Jack, Bernie, Jimmy, and sisters: Helen, Dottie. Oldest sister, Marie (Bob) reside in Edgewater, FL. Loretta enjoyed life in the outskirts of D.C. where she was most proud of her role as devoted wife and caring mother. Loretta and Kurt traveled the world with their State Farm family and eventually made their home in Ormond Beach, FL in 1989. A member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church, she loved working in the Like New Shop and playing cards with the Catholic Women's Group. She also volunteered at bereavement receptions. Loretta could often be found cheering on her grandkids at various sporting events. Grandma was loved deeply and will be dearly missed. 

Visitation will be at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 4101 Norbeck Road, Rockville, MD 20853 on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm with family remarks at 11:45 am and Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church (Like New Shop) 600 South Nova Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 or Hospice at Halifax Health, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129.
