James Scott of Rockville, Maryland on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Beloved husband of Angela Scott, father of Barbara Cornet (Tony) and Steven Scott (Mary Kathleen); grandfather of Tyler and Tanner Cornet and Andrew, Ann and William Scott, brother of Dorothea "Chuckle" Alderfer and Carolyn Finch. He grew up all over the country as the son of a Veteran’s Administration Physician. Mr. Scott received his Bachelor of Science degree from Roanoke College in 1951 and his Masters of Science degree from Virginia Polytechnical Institute in 1955 both in Physics. He served honorably in the US Army from 1954 until 1956 and spent his career in the defense industry. As a lover of books, he instilled the importance of education in his children. After retiring, Mr. Scott volunteered by tutoring students learning English as a second language. He enjoyed travel, bridge, and spending time with his grandchildren. A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 917 Montrose Road, Rockville Maryland on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 1:00 pm. Interment private.
