Evelyn Victoria Evans passed away suddenly November 7, 2017 in Silver Spring, Maryland. She was 93 years old. Born in Hanover, Jamaica, she came to the US in 1959 to join her husband, Herman, who died in 1983.

Mamie, as her friends and family called her, is survived by six of her seven children: Fitz, Dolly Jackson, DeVonne, Al (deceased), Paul, Joan Graham, and Deane. She will also be greatly missed by the seven of her eight grandchildren and all eight great grandchildren, along with her daughters-in-law and son-in-law.

Visitation is from 2 pm to 2:45 pm in the Velma B. Woolworth Memorial Chapel on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at The Woodlawn Cemetery on East 233rd Street & Webster Avenue, Bronx, New York 10470. This will be followed by the memorial service from 2:45 pm to 3:30 pm and interment immediately after.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution can be made to assist in the education of disadvantaged students of her home parish in Jamaica. To do so, you may send an indication email to fevansja@gmail.com.
