Douglas Edward Kowalski, age 54, died peacefully at Holy Cross Hospital, Silver Spring, Maryland. He was surrounded by family. Beloved son of the late Edward P. Kowalski; son of Helen C. Kowalski; brother of Susan Fishman (Dr. Gerald Fishman) of Columbia, South Carolina; brother of Dr. David Kowalski of Silver Spring, Maryland; brother of Nancy McFadden (Dr. David McFadden) of Avon, Connecticut; brother of Brenda Roberts of Gainesville, Florida. Douglas is also survived by ten nieces and nephews and many cousins who loved him dearly. 
   After graduating from high school he chose a career in plumbing. He loved nature and all animals, especially his dog Molly. His hobbies were gardening, fishing and golf. He had a passion for remodeling homes. Douglas was a loyal and giving person.  He often did home repairs for a person in need never expecting anything in return. Douglas loved his family and visits from those out of town. As a benevolent uncle, he gave his time to teach his nephews home repair. Douglas loved the Lord. He always had kind words to say about everyone.
   The family is thankful for the compassionate and loving support from the Holy Cross hospital staff.
