Claire Farley Kahl

November 26, 1916 ~ February 24, 2017 (age 100) 100 Years Old

On Friday February 24th, 2017 Claire Kahl passed away at the age of 100.  She was born in New York City and attended the Hewitt School. When World War II began, Claire worked overseas as a volunteer with the American Red Cross.  While working in Palermo, Italy, she met her future husband, an American serviceman.  After the war ended, they were married at St. Patrick's Church in New York City.  They settled in Connecticut where they raised their three children. Claire relocated to Silver Spring, MD in 1983.

Claire was the beloved wife of the late Martin Kahl; mother of Nancy Zappala, William Kahl and David Kahl (Wendy); grandmother of Catherine Rusthoven, Joseph Zappala, Jordan Kahl, Mackenzie Kahl, Hannah Kahl and Andrew Kahl; great grandmother of Dominic Rusthoven and Caleb Kahl.

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 15663 Norbeck Boulevard, Silver Spring MD on Thursday, March 2 from 10:00 until 11:00 am with rosary at 10:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
